Israel Attacks Southern Lebanon with Artillery

The Israeli regime continued its attacks on southern Lebanon on Friday, using artillery shelling and machine-gun fire against several areas, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency.

The agency said Israeli regime artillery targeted the town of Houla and Wadi al-Salouqi.

No information was immediately available on casualties or damage.

Meanwhile, the latest attacks follow an intensification of Israeli regime operations across southern Lebanon on Thursday, including airstrikes, artillery shelling and ground incursions in several areas, among them Mansouri and Mays al-Jabal.

The Israeli regime has continued its military incursion in Lebanon since launching a new offensive on March 2, with its forces advancing into additional areas of southern Lebanon.

On June 26, Lebanon and the Israeli regime reached a US-mediated framework agreement providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah.

US-sponsored talks have since continued over the implementation of the agreement, including the Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of the Lebanese army.

However, Israeli regime attacks on southern Lebanon have persisted despite the ongoing talks.
