Iran Ready to Restart Talks on Removal of Sanctions: Deputy FM
Expressing Iran’s readiness for the resumption of negotiations on the removal of sanctions, an Iranian deputy foreign minister said Tehran and the European parties have agreed to proceed with the talks.
Asked about the course of talks between Iran and Europe, Kazem Gharibabadi told reporters in Tehran on Tuesday, “Like before, the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to restart the negotiations on the removal of sanctions.”
Commenting on a date for the new round of talks, he said, “We have agreed to proceed with the talks. We will define its date through the consultations we will hold.”
Gharibabadi stated that Iran will adjust its policies according to the approaches and policies of the other side.
Iran believes that there are good opportunities for dialogue and understanding, the deputy minister said, adding, “Everybody knows that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and that the unilateral and unlawful sanctions have not achieved their purposes.”
The wisest way is to start negotiations on lifting sanctions against Iran, he stated.
