Hamid Reza Assefi: Trump's violating JCPOA is not important / We can continue JCPOA with Europeans if they are not affected by the US
Tehran(KNA) : Former Iran’s ambassador to France in his exclusive interview with Khabar Fori: Europeans can undoubtedly be able to reach an agreement if they are not affected by the United States.
Hamid Reza Assefi, the former ambassador to France has had an interview with Khabar Fori about JCPOA and its future with regard to the withdrawal of the United States from this international treaty.
"Personally, I believe that Trump’s withdrawal from JCPOA is not very important and we must think of making another decision about JCPOA.” Assefi said.
“IS it possible to make a new and better agreement with the European countries after US’ violation?” We asked Dr Assefi.
"According to European countries' engagement with Iran, it is undoubtedly hard to reach an agreement with those European countries which could be influenced by US actions and decisions.” he answered.
Iran’s former ambassador to France emphasized that the Europeans always are influenced by the US’ decisions.
"Given that Europeans are always influenced by the United States in their decision-making process, and their history also support this, the continuation of the agreement is undoubtedly questioned with them." He said.
"I hope the Europeans will enter into an agreement with Iran on nuclear problems, this time without being influenced by policies of the US and they should take the necessary steps in this regard on the basis of the treaty.” Assefi asserted at the end of our interview.
